OUR PURPOSE

Casa Lily is more than a brand; it is a testament to love, dedication, and a firm belief in a future where fashion and ethical practices can coexist. Inspired by a commitment to environmental responsibility, our passion for education, craftsmanship, and community has been the spark behind Casa Lily. We ensure that every design reflects quality, innovation, and accountability from material selection to the manufacturing process.

That is the idea that started CASA LILY: If you could buy the same quality footwear without breaking the bank but made in an environmentally and socially conscious way, wouldn't you?

Casa Lily is a female-led brand built by a mother and daughter duo on a mission to create a brand that is consciously made with luxury, minimalist, accessible, and inclusive products without compromising quality.

In fashion, achieving true sustainability is complex due to debates and systemic challenges related to privilege, consumerism, and capitalism. Simply having social initiatives does not make a brand 100% sustainable. We prioritize transparency and focus on specific actions such as our Educate.Extend.Care Program (E.E.C)-to promote circular practices instead of just using the term sustainable.

Recognizing we are both part of the problem and trying to be part of the solution.

The fashion industry produces 100 billion garments annually, and 87% (40 million tons) end up in a landfill where they smolder and pollute the air or an incinerator (Fashion for the Earth - EARTHDAY.ORG. https://www.earthday.org/campaign/sustainable-fashion/).

Only 1% of all discarded clothing is recycled (Fashion with a Purpose: Empowering Change through Reepeat.in's Eco Friendly Designs. https://www.reepeat.in/empowering-change-through-reepeat-ins-eco-friendly-designs/).

The cost of fast fashion's cheap clothing is extracted from the industry's factory garment workers. Workers are paid less than the minimum wage in countries in the global south, which does not nearly constitute a "living" wage (Fashion for the Earth - EARTHDAY.ORG. https://www.earthday.org/campaign/sustainable-fashion/).

Extending product life, enabling recycling, and reducing the need for new and finite resources in production are key decarbonization levers in the circular economy (McKinsey, 2020).

As a brand, we recognize that we are both part of the problem and are trying to be part of the solution. Given that we all shop, it is our responsibility as a brand to educate and create better solutions. We know our materials are not the perfect solution, and there are complexities and barriers to living more sustainable lifestyles and accessing sustainable products.

As described in the 2015 Paris Agreement, brands in the fashion industry can align and create better practices that help cut carbon emissions to achieve alignment with the 1.5-degree pathway. At Casa Lily, we are trying to be part of the solution by improving packaging, minimizing returns, producing in minimum quantities, and educating consumers on sustainable practices.

Being Part of the Solution Means Bettering the Product

We pride ourselves on creating products that are thought-out investments and have versatile usage.

Our collections are carefully conceptualized and created in minimum quantities with an educational focus for us and our consumers. We launch in minimum styles at a time, producing in low quantities to ensure quality and ethical practice in all our processes. We are very selective in the sourcing of materials. While we also have an animal-friendly focus, our upcoming designs with MIRUM® showcase a unique opportunity for high-performing, plastic-free footwear.

Part of the Solution: Going Beyond The Product

Packaging: Our packaging can be used for storage or recycled. Reminder alerts are given.

We are learning and continuing on our way to a more circular economy. One way we do this is through our Educate. Extend. Care Program (E.E.C).
